Analysing 3 thriller series posters

The 3 chosen thriller posters are all very similar especially with the colour palette, Thrillers usually have a strict colour scheme which creates the eerie feeling which thriller movies or series aim for.

‘he’s out there’ - the poster for this movie or series is very basic, a man in a dark forest with a weapon. This is a commonly seen theme in thriller however it can keep some people on the edge of their seats. The poster creates an eerie and creepy feeling with the background as the trees and fog create a feeling of vulnerability and being lost- the man in the middle of the forest creates a sense of danger and awareness. Moreover, the title of this movie/series poster contributes to the poster's creepiness. The use of the sharp font imitates the look of being carved by a sharp object, and the colour red represents blood. Overall, the title and the main image overall creates a sense of urgency and interests' people who like thrillers because they can recognize these details that make up a thriller.

‘no one here but us; - the title for this poster makes the viewer feel isolated and as if they're in danger, the main image is a creepy picture of blurred faces and two people below them making them seem weaker than the other ‘people’. Furthermore, the poster featuring shadows and silhouettes evoke a sense of suspense and their body language conveys the feeling of fear or tension. The colouring enhances the feeling of dark foreboding and draws the viewers' attention with the suspense it creates. I want to use some of the features seen in this poster in my series poster to make it seem ominous and intriguing

‘repeaters’ - the poster for repeaters evokes a sense of confusion especially with distorted editing and the slightly distorted font used for the title. The colouring and lighting also connotates with time. And the placement of the title also contributes to the feeling of disorientation. The colouring consists of mostly darker shades and tones possibly enhancing the characters on the poster and making them stand out.
